behind the scenes

  • Throwback Thursday to when my lovely friend and I went to the ballet in Covent Garden to see the new up and coming ballet stars. ⁣
⁣
What a wonderful night it was! ⁣
⁣
I love the theatre and most recently into Opera too ( don’t mind a subtitle 😂) ⁣
⁣
Last year my resolution was to go once a month to the theatre and I blew it out the water. I think there was one month we went 5 times due to postponed tickets from covid- too much! Energised but exhausted! ⁣
⁣
Are you a Theatre goer? What do you love seeing? ⁣
Is there anything you haven’t gone back in to see after the interval? (I took my mum to Vienna and we went to see a Mozart concert and didn’t go back in 🤦🏼‍♀️) 👎🏻⁣
⁣
Let me know ! Comment below…… ✅
  • This little candle jar is responsible for my entire business! ⁣
⁣
Over 10 years ago I was gifted this candle, a double wick filled with luscious festive fragrance. ⁣
⁣
When it finished I thought oooh let’s fill it. It’s a beautiful cut glass container - Crabtree & Evelyn I believe. ⁣
⁣
Purchasing some ingredients from a high st shop I took to YouTube. ⁣
⁣
Well…… it seems everything I purchased was C&#P!! ⁣
⁣
Back to the drawing board⁣
⁣
Who knew some fragrances weren’t Vegan! ⁣
Who knew people put metal in the middle of wicks to keep them straight. ⁣
⁣
A LOT of research later and I started making for myself that Christmas. ⁣
⁣
The rest is history 💃🏼
  • Looks good enough to drink doesn’t it! ⁣
⁣
A little cranberry juice? ⁣
⁣
When you colour your candles how do you do it? ⁣
⁣
Read my blog on how I’d colour mine 🌈⁣
⁣
Although you know I’m a bit of a purist and like mine ‘au natural’ 🤣⁣

  • Look at the heat in that! These are the unique pieces of candle glass created for me by Elin Isaakson Scottish glassblower. They are works of art, each piece gently decorated with gold or silver leaf. The pattern looked like continents and I loved studying them thinking of new places to travel. The last couple are available on my website. Of course filled to the brim with luxury fragrances oils ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • To match or not to match - that is the question? I can be a fuss pot when lighting my candles - I like good matches that don’t fall apart and end up in the candle and leave a candle looking like a dogs dinner. I have even seen people throw the match into the candle when they have lit the wick - no, no, no! Yikes 🤦🏼‍♀️ light your candle and dispose of the match safely. ✅
